A Call for Cosmic Kindness

The world feels pretty heavy right now. People are afraid- they are struggling as their rights and sense of identity are being taken away from them. It feels like kindness is disappearing. The lack of humanity in the folks we once revered and held close is discouraging.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all my work- whether in revenue operations, community advocacy, or just human existence- it’s that systems alone don’t fix things. People do.

When the world feels out of control, we must focus on the things we can control. We can't control how others react or what others will be receptive to, but we can control how we focus on how we build community, how we make space for ourselves and others, and how we respond to the world around us. We can do that with Cosmic Kindness.

What Is Cosmic Kindness?

Cosmic Kindness isn’t just about being nice. It’s bigger than that. It’s about recognizing that we’re all connected, that kindness has the power to change things, and that choosing to lift each other up instead of tearing each other down is a radical act. It’s about creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and valued just as they are.

For me, it shows up in art, in community organizing, and in the way I try to support my teams at work. It’s what happens when we stop seeing life as a competition and start seeing it as a shared experience.

Why Now?

The world needs the idea of Cosmic Kindness more than ever. I'm exhausted, as I can imagine everyone else is, too.

The news is overwhelming. Marginalized communities are under attack and we're all starting at burnout head-on. In times like this, kindness isn’t just a nice idea—it’s survival. It’s resistance. It’s how we take care of each other when the systems around us fail.

When the world around us appears to lack kindness, it's easy to act the same in return. But when we don't make space for kindness to be nurtured, how will it manifest and grow?

Kindness can break down the barriers that keep people from thriving. It can be the difference between feeling safe and feeling isolated. It can be that one moment that keeps someone going when they’re feeling invisible. Kindness isn’t just soft and sweet—it’s powerful.

How Do We Make Cosmic Kindness Happen?

Kindness isn’t passive. The more we make it a part of our existence, the more we can banish the things that are working against us.

Here’s how we can make it real every day:

Put people first.

Systems and processes should support people, not the other way around.

Find joy and spread it.

Joy is a radical act, especially when the world tells you that you don’t deserve it.

Use your privilege for good.

If you have a platform, a voice, or any kind of influence, share it. Speaking up and speaking out for the betterment of our community is kindness.

Mutual aid is important.

Knowledge, resources, time—if you can share, do it. We all rise together.

Let people be human.

We all mess up. We all grow. Holding space for that is an act of kindness too.

A Call to Action

Cosmic Kindness isn’t just an idea. It’s something we have to live and speak into existence. It’s how we build a better world, one small action at a time.

What’s one way you can show up with kindness today- for yourself or for others?

Start there.

We're all we've got, so let’s do this together.
